COVID-19 Update

Please read the following updates to our 2020 event 

Run Virtual Or Onsite In December- With the uncertainty of this pandemic, it is important to be as flexible and safe as possible for all those involved with our event.  We have decided that this event can be ran anywhere at anytime in December.  If you choose to run from your home we will have the event available to you through the RaceJoy App and will send you your race goodies via USPS.  In addition, for everyone who is still planning to come down to Islamorada on event weekend, RaceJoy will provide the course for you to run anytime through self guidance.  However, we do ask that everyone remains in the wave they signed up for to help limit any crowding near the start/finish.  If you are not signed up for a wave or want to run at a different time, please do so at your discretion and adhere to social distancing.  


Packet Pick-Up- You may pick up your race goodies near the start/finish on Bimini Row at Postcard Inn on Saturday, December 5th from 9am-3pm or Sunday, December 6th from 9am-12pm.  PLEASE NOTE: You do not need your race goodies to run the event as you are timed through the RaceJoy App and not through a chip on a bib. 

RaceJoy- As mentioned, you will need to download the RaceJoy App on your mobile phone or smartwatch.  You may then sign into the event and run at your leisure.  We will be sending out instructions for RaceJoy as soon as our event is fully uploaded in the app.


Location - We are excited to announce that we are moving the hosting location to Postcard Inn (formerly Holiday Isle) with a start and finish location on Bimini Row.  This is perhaps one of the most picturesque start lines in the country as you are surrounded by water on all sides.  Below you will find a link to our exclusive rates to reserve your room at Postcard Inn or one of their sister properties in Islamorada.  


Wave Starts - Update!  We have expanded these slots.  We set these waves to limit crowding at peak running time.  However, you can still run at anytime you like.  We simply ask that you respect these time slots and social distance yourself when around others.

For 2020, there will not be any common start times for any of the events.  We will have waves every 15 minutes over the course of three days.  Each participant or private group should start at no more than 30-40 seconds separating them from others.  Participants will may sign up for the wave of their choice on a first come first serve basis.  If you have signed up for multiple races, you may sign up for multiple waves (excluding Beach N’ Beer Mile, see below).  This is NOT mandatory but encouraged.


Race Goodies - You will be allowed to pick up your race goodies near the start/finish area on Saturday, December 5th from 12pm-3pm or Sunday, December 6th from 10am-1pm. As mentioned, you do not need a bib to run through the RaceJoy app, so therefore can run before you pick up if you choose to.

The start and finish area will be the same for all the races on Bimini Row at Postcard Inn. 

PLEASE NOTE: The management of the course will be limited due to safety restrictions from the village of Islamorada.  It is important that you familiarize yourself with the course for self guidance.  The good news is that these courses really are simple with just a couple turning points.


Hotels - We have been provided with exclusive rates for Postcard Inn and its three sister hotels; Pelican Cove, Amara Cay and La Siesta.  All hotels are beautiful and are located oceanfront.  In addition, for booking through our link, you will be given two drink tickets as well as a discount on their daily resort fee.  There is NO better rate anywhere else guaranteed.  Both Postcard Inn and Pelican Cove are onsite for the event.  Amara Cay and La Siesta are just a few miles south in Islamorada.

Beach N' Beer Mile - The Beach N' Beer Mile will take place on Saturday, December 5th from 12pm - 3pm.  Participants may jog or walk their mile anytime between 12pm-3pm.  It will be a 1/4 mile loop on the Postcard Inn property that will feature music at the start and finish location on Bimini Row.  Participants will pick up their 4 beer tickets and swag in the same area.   


Post Race Party - For 2020, we cannot host a post race event that promotes the gathering of lots of people. Once you complete your run, you will be given your medal along with other swag that came with your registration and then asked to exit the finish line area.  However, your registration WILL come with a drink ticket that will be good to use throughout the day at any of the multiple bar locations onsite at Postcard Inn.


Deferrals - We understand this has been a difficult time for everyone and the new plan may not be what you originally signed up for.  We are offering those who wish to push back their registration to 2021 to do so at no charge.  That said, we sincerely hope you can make it down this year as we and the rest of the Florida Keys would love to have you. Please email here to let us know if you are deferring to 2021. Please note that ALL deferrals must be requested no later than Frida, November 20th.

Offsite Virtual - If you cannot make it to Islamorada on the weekend of December 4th-6th, 2020 to pick up your swag, please email here to let us know that you would like it mailed to you.  Please note that ALL requests to run virtual offsite (or not in Islamorada on the weekend of December 4th-6th must be done by Friday, November 20th.
